Dr. Nico van Belzen
Dr. Nico van Belzen is the Executive Director of ILSI Europe, the European branch of the International Life Sciences Institute. The mission of ILSI is to improve the well-being of the general public through the advancement of science. Before joining ILSI in 2003, Nico van Belzen worked for five years in R&D management positions in DMV International, the business-to-business division of Campina. Prior to that, he worked for over ten years as a biomedical researcher at universities and academic hospitals in the Netherlands, his specialties being molecular cell biology and cancer research. After having obtained his Master’s degree at Utrecht University, he completed his PhD studies under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Johannes Boonstra and Prof. Dr. Arie Verkleij (Molecular Cell Biology, UU).
